During this time the annual grant has funded such projects as, “The integration of Pharmacy into Primary Care Networks”, “Pharmacy driven Anticoagulation Clinics" and a multi-year grant towards the validation of the effectiveness of the problem-based curriculum at the Dalhousie College of Pharmacy. More recently the Apotex funding has become part of some much larger projects through our Innovation Fund. Apotex has also been a major sponsor of other CFP fundraising events. ASTRAZENECA CANADA INC.CFP Executive Director Dayle Acorn with Jeff Sleep, Senior Marketing Manager, Patients & Allied Since the days of President Gerry McDole, AstraZeneca has been a strong supporter of the pharmacy profession and in particular the work of the Foundation. 2006 marked the 10th year that AstraZeneca supported the Pharmacy Executive Exchange. This pan-pharmacy event brought together College Registrars, Provincial Association President’s and CEO’s and the CPhA together to exchange ideas and thoughts on the direction and future of pharmacy. In 2008, AstraZeneca provided the single largest grant to the Foundation in support of Dr. Ross Tsuyuki’s work exploring a compensation model for pharmacy intervention in chronic disease. A project funded by the CFP Innovation Fund. They repeated as our largest Corporate donor again in 2009. AstraZeneca has also supported the Foundation in our various other fundraisers, including our Pillar of Pharmacy recognition dinners, and Corporate Sponsor for the Innovation Seminar. |
RATIOPHARMratiopharm President and CEO, Jean Guy Goulet, accepting the award from CFP Executive Director Dayle Acorn (left) Since 1997, ratiopharm partnered with the Foundation in the creation of the CFP/ratiopharm report, “Perceptions of Pharmacy." This much sought-after market research project has looked at pharmacy from the perspective of consumers, private payers, physicians, pharmacists themselves, students and recent grads. More recently the report has focused on seniors, baby boomers and caregivers. Ratiopharm has also been a strong supporter of the Golf Classic, the Innovation Seminar, and more recently the Innovation Fund. Receiving the award himself was President and CEO Jean Guy Goulet, who had strong praises for the work of the Foundation and the close partnership with the Company. All marketing personnel came out to view the presentation and celebrate the longstanding relationship with the Foundation. BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBBAccepting the award on behalf of BMS is President and General Manager Wayne Quigley Bristol Myers Squibb has been recognized for their longstanding support of pharmacy and the Foundation for their annual presentation of the Past President’s Award. Presented to the outgoing President’s of pharmacy organizations and associations across Canada, this award acknowledges the time and contribution of the pharmacy leaders to their various Boards. |
