Are you providing care for an aging loved one?
Researchers at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto are looking for pharmacists to participate in a study exploring the experiences of healthcare professionals who also serve as unpaid caregivers for aging loved ones.
The study aims to better understand the unique roles, challenges and support needs of healthcare professionals who balance their clinical responsibilities with unpaid caregiving. Findings will help inform more responsive supports, programs and policies aimed at improving the wellbeing of healthcare professionals in caregiving roles.
Eligible participants are healthcare professionals in Ontario who have provided, or are currently providing, unpaid care to an aging loved one (65 or older), including assistance with at least one activity of daily living, at least once per week for a minimum of six months.
Participation involves a single confidential interview lasting approximately 45 to 60 minutes, conducted via Zoom or phone. Participation is completely voluntary, and all shared information will be kept strictly confidential. No identifying information will be included in any reports or publications.
The research team is led by Dr. Kristina Kokorelias, Associate Scientist and Senior Academic Program Coordinator for the Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program at Sinai Health and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto.
Pharmacists who are interested in participating or would like more information are asked to contact Research Assistant Samuel Kolev, Samuel.Kolev@sinaihealth.ca.
