Karen Welds

Karen has witnessed the evolution of pharmacy since 1991, first as a journalist and editor for trade publications and currently as a consulting writer and editor for a range of projects in pharmacy and group-insurance health benefits. Since 2013 she has been part of the communications team for the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy, writing for its website and annual Changing Face of Pharmacy magazine. As well, Karen pulls together CFP’s annual Pharmacy Services Chart, the only chart in Canada that captures year-after-year claims data for government-funded pharmacy services. Karen is also the managing editor and writer for the Neighbourhood Pharmacy Gazette, published quarterly by the Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada, and managing editor and writer for the annual Benefits Canada Healthcare Survey.
