A New Direction for Advancing Pharmacy in Canada

The Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy (CFP) has supported the advancement of pharmacy innovation and practice since 1945. In 2024, CFP’s Board and staff consulted with donors, community partners, and sector representatives to explore and reassert CFP’s purpose.

Our key determination: to evolve into an institute model, proactively collaborating with partners across the pharmacy sector to identify and address
key gaps in research and evidence as it relates to the advancement of pharmacy in Canada.

Determine key research areas

CFP will engage with pharmacy partners to determine key issues and gaps in practice, and to defi ne the funding priorities for pharmacy advancement.

Champion innovation

CFP will build partnerships and advance pharmacy through strategic engagement, including the development of a research community pharmacy innovation network.

Achieve results

CFP will achieve sustainable funding through increased fundraising, partner with other pharmacy and healthcare stakeholders to create new programs, and realize measurable impacts on the sector.
