GRANTS & AWARDS
Innovation Fund
Since 2007 CFP has transformed more than $2.5 million in individual and corporate donations into awards, bursaries and scholarships for pharmacy researchers, innovators and leaders across the country. Grants from the Innovation Fund are a core component of CFP’s commitment to support pharmacy for a healthier Canada.
Open for 2026 applications:
Deadline April 17
The Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy’s Innovation Fund is a core component of CFP’s commitment to support the advancement of pharmacy practice for a healthier Canada. We are pleased to be able to award up to $150,000 in funding in 2026.
For the first time, CFP is asking that applications be related to a specific area of research or innovation. CFP arrived at this theme after surveying the pharmacy community twice in 2025 to determine the most pressing needs for research and advancement in pharmacy practice.
The theme for 2026: Enhancing Canadians’ experience with care and access to medication services (e.g., new service areas or delivery models, improving patient access, meeting the needs of under-served patients).
In the application, you will be asked how your work contributes to this theme.
Two categories of projects are available for funding from the Innovation Fund:
1 – Move the Needle projects are shorter-duration initiatives of up to one year led by a pharmacist licensed to practice in Canada. These initiatives seek to “move the needle” in community pharmacy (i.e., make a noticeable or significant difference, create meaningful progress, or have a tangible impact on urgently needed, short-term goals). Each initiative is eligible for a maximum of $10,000 in funding.
2 – Research grants are awarded to research projects of up to two years. To be eligible, you must be a pharmacist licensed to practice in Canada and engaged in research that seeks to advance the profession in ways that demonstrably improve the health of patients. Each project is eligible for a maximum of $50,000 in funding.
Completed applications must be submitted by April 17, 2026 (midnight EST).
