The Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy welcomes two pharmacists to its Board: Dr. Alan Low of British Columbia, and Dr. Mira Maximos of Ontario.

Alan Low, Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia (UBC) - Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy

Dr. Alan Low

Dr. Alan Low brings a broad perspective on healthcare systems and pharmacy practice through leadership roles in academia, hospital pharmacy, community and specialty pharmacy, industry, and advocacy. He is currently a Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia (UBC), as well as the Pharmacy Lead and Primary Care Pharmacist at BioPro Biologics Pharmacy, Care Director at MedInfuse Health Infusion Clinic, Executive Director of the Consultant Specialists of BC, and Clinical Pharmacist with Fraser Health Authority. Low completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1991 and his PharmD in 1996, both at UBC.

Mira Maximos, Acute Ambulatory Care Unit at Women’s College Hospital - Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy

Dr. Mira Maximos

Dr. Mira Maximos brings a strong foundation in clinical practice, research, education, strategic planning and advocacy to CFP. She currently practices in the Acute Ambulatory Care Unit at Women’s College Hospital, supporting internal medicine and infectious diseases care, and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Toronto Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BScPhm in 2014 and a PharmD in 2019.

CFP also sincerely thanks outgoing Board member Sherif Guorgui, OnPharm-United, for his dedication and guidance. Guorgui renewed his term several times and served on the Board for nine years.
