Get SHARP at CFP Symposium

CFP’s second annual SHARP (Strengthening Health with Research in Pharmacy) Symposium on September 30 showcases the newest and most promising research on pharmacy in Canada. What sets the Symposium apart from a typical academic event is its focus on how these research projects can inform policy and practice. The program is designed to translate research knowledge into practice, and explore how findings can impact the everyday care decisions of a community pharmacist.

The 2026 CFP SHARP Symposium will explore two themes: 

Dr. Michelle Nelson

Integrated care: How can we remove silos and move toward more collaborative care? The plenary speaker on this topic is Michelle Nelson, Professor, School of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Ottawa.

Wasem Alsabbagh

Health equity: How can we ensure all patients are being seen and heard? This topic’s plenary speaker is Wasem Alsabbagh, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Waterloo.

The full-day symposium brings together researchers, educators, policymakers, healthcare professionals, knowledge users and trainees to explore how research can strengthen pharmacy practice and primary healthcare. Conversation tables and a panel discussion encourage discussion about how evidence can inform policy decisions and improve patient care across Canada.

The SHARP Symposium is happening on Wednesday, September 30 at The Chelsea Hotel in Toronto. Lower room rates are available until August 28 or until the block of rooms sells out.
