Save the Date: ‘Home-grown’ pharmacy research

A one-day symposium in southern Ontario this June aims to bring Canadian pharmacy research to the forefront. Co-hosted by the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy (CFP), the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada and the Ontario Pharmacy Evidence Network (OPEN), Strengthening Health with Research in Pharmacy (SHARP)  will take place on June 20, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Fallsview in Niagara Falls.

The SHARP Symposium is an exciting addition to the Canadian Education and Research Conference (CPERC) that starts on June 17. Symposium-only attendees do not need to register for CPERC.

“Evidence that can inform policy is critical,” says Lisa Dolovich, Professor and Dean at the University of Toronto’s Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and an OPEN executive board member. “The SHARP symposium will showcase the latest research on pharmacy practice done by researchers from across Canada and encourage discussion about how our home-grown research can inform policy decisions.”

In addition to engaging plenary presentations, organizers say there will be plenty of opportunities for networking—and some fun—in beautiful Niagara Falls. “It really is an event that anyone interested in the future of pharmacy won’t want to miss,” says CFP Executive Director Linda Prytula.
